The drawing represents the first enclosure dated from the 1297.
It is possible to see which the main elements were: the new establishment
of the Mataplana and the bridge that communicated with the old
Castell, at the moment known called the Castell of the Vila that
is in ruins.
Due to the topographical conditions, it is logical
to think that the first original element the construction of
a great bridge that lightened the geographic structure. Of this
bridge today only it is left the arc on the Llobregat river.
Nowadays
it is difficult to think that the area of influence of the water
is so extensive, but the descriptions that arrive us from the
place make reference to a leafy and very humid place. The one
will be indeed this access that will cause that this place becomes
a suitable site for the construction of the new strength, protected
by the water of the Llobregat and Arija. Of the wing the west
of the old castle, of which only it is left half today recovered,
a great fire was mutilated for the construction of the present
church taking advantage of that destroyed the enclosure. The
new construction took place between the years 1716 and 1719.
The unit that was not included within the church adapted to be
one rectoría. The last enclosure has been
adapted for residential house for the celebration of events and
is the building that we are showing you in this web page.
